INSTRUCTIOINS
TASK 1
Social Media Analytics
The purpose of this task is for you to get familiarize with an analytics data and metrics via analytics tool (e.g. GoogleAnalytics, Adobe Analytics). You will be given an access (read only) of an analytics account. You will be exposed to the types of data, measurable metrics and actionable insight that will drive a brand or site’s design application and development.
Submission:
Deck presentation containing analytics analysis (for a givenperiod) and how does these data drive design application and development.
TASK 2
Content Ideation
As a group, students are tasked to identify a social media account that they will work on. The account can be either worked on; theoretically or actual (where students approach client to work with them). Student are to plan content that are appropriate to the client’s brief and map it into the content planning sheet. Along the way, student will be guided on the best practice and requirements for the content.
Each group should appoint a team member that’s responsible for; Ideation, strategy, copywriting and artwork design. The roles shall be rotated for every task.
Submission of Content Planning Sheet that includes:
• Weekly post idea
• Development guide
• Any other related materials (optional)
TASK 3
Content Planning
Content planning is critical in planning a social media campaign because it ensures that the campaign is consistent, relevant and engaging. Planning for a content is crucial as it will clearly lay out the weekly/monthly or quarterly content for any brands or account.
Submission:
Google Sheet containing all the required details (refer to sample of sheet that is shown on Week 1 in class).
FINAL TASK
Pitch Deck & Design Application and Development
With the knowledge and experience gained in all the tasks, synthesise and apply the learning in the following tasks:
You are to execute the content that you have plan as a group that translates the strategy and ideation proposed in the earlier stage.
Along with that, as a group, you are to develop design application and development from the key findings that has been tabulated in the deck.
Submission:
A complete pitch deck & final file of design development and application (where applicable)
REFLECTION
At first I thought this task was very simple, but as we went on I found it was not as easy as we thought. Every post we made had to be related to the interests of the brand befront, not just posting it casually because we thought the design was good-looking.
In addition, our progress was the slowest among all the people, and our group was particularly struggling. Every time we agreed to meet together to discuss the areas that needed improvement in this assignment, no one fulfilled our meeting agreement. Even during class time, our group never really had everyone together. Even group messages were not replied. When the assignment reached this point, Tong En and I wanted to give up.
When this assignment was almost finished, we two finally made progress in this assignment with the advice given by the instructor. Here I would like to thank Mr. Asrizal for his patience in leading us. Although we were the slowest among all the people, he never thought of giving up on us, and he also took the time to give us valuable advice. Here I would like to thank him from the bottom of my heart.
