Project 1 - Animated Infographic Poster

DESCRIPTION: 
After time exploring media and learning about information design, you will now develop an infographic that presents a series of different processes as visuals rather than text.

REQUIREMENT:
Your main intention is to analyse the “delivery mechanism’s” that affect the outcomes of your infographics.
Though content is important, however the aim of this presentation is too look at what makes an infographic presentation work or does not work. This includes content but only as one of the many components of an infographic:

PART 1: Infographic poster (10%)           
INSTRUCTION:
1. Choose 1 infographic poster reference from Internet (Please consult before proceed)
2. Redesign the poster into A4 size. Sketch the idea and process
3. Redesign and simplify the poster based on visual hierarchy & typography
4. Simplify the poster's design based on color, shape & pattern
5. Attach your final poster on E-Portfolio with explanation and reflective writing

At first I chose these infographic poster, then I showed it to Mr. Shamsul. But sir thinks that its already perfect and there's nothing to redesign.

Then I proceed with this boring and messy infographic poster.

Instructions:

1. Transform your infographic poster into a simple looped animation.
2. The animation should last between 15-30 seconds.
3. Create the animation in 1080 x 1920 px (vertical video) format and upload it to your YouTube channel.
   

Before I began animating my poster, I took the time to research and gather various references to gain more inspiration and a clearer direction. Looking at different animation styles and techniques helped me explore creative possibilities and determine the best approach for enhancing my design. These references provided valuable insights into how motion, transitions, and visual effects could be used effectively to make my infographic more engaging and dynamic. By studying these examples, I was able to refine my ideas and develop a stronger vision for the final animation.

FEEDBACK

During the final critique, Mr. Shamsul pointed out that my design was too plain, lacked contrast, and wasn’t visually appealing. He also mentioned that it didn’t reflect the visual reference I had chosen. This feedback showed me areas for improvement, such as adding more contrast and visual interest to make designs engaging.

REFLECTION 

Working on Project 1 in Information Design was both challenging and rewarding. Initially, I chose an infographic poster I thought needed improvement, but after consulting with Mr. Shamsul, I realized the original design was already well-executed. This led me to select a different poster that was cluttered and less engaging. Redesigning it taught me the importance of visual hierarchy, typography, and simplifying design elements like color, shape, and pattern. I aimed to make the information clearer and more appealing.

For the animation part, I researched various styles to understand how motion and transitions could enhance an infographic. This exploration helped me see the potential of animation in making designs more effective.
